He subsequently joined BP as a communications adviser to the chief executive, before spending six years at Maitland as a partner. He founded Boscobel & Partners in 2015. George is a research fellow at the Centre for Policy Studies and an advisory board member at Open Europe. He was educated at Bristol University, where he studied history, and then at the College of Law.

He attended the University of York where he took a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, before obtaining a Master of Research in Economic Philosophy. Nicholas is keen on rugby, cricket and reading.
